Thornleigh West Public School P&C

We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our school stands. The land of the Darug and Guringai people. We acknowledge that this was their land and water and we are committed to understand and respect indigenous culture past and present.

Welcome to the Thornleigh West Public School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association website.

Thornleigh West has a very strong local school community who contribute to the improvement of the school through their involvement in P&C. The P&C works closely with the school executive to improve the learning environment and wellbeing of our students.

We do this in the following ways:

  • Providing school canteen services (Wednesday to Friday)
  • Organising and supporting the Thornleigh West School Band
  • Organising fundraising events and working closely with the school executive to fund learning and building resources.
  • Providing and managing the uniform shop
  • Running Mother’s and Father’s Day events
  • Implementing and maintaining the school kitchen garden
  • Supporting the drama program in Wakakirri
  • Providing information to parents

Recent significant P&C fundraising contributions have been:

  • Upgrade the school PA system
  • Purchase and install a (very) large fan in the school hall
  • Provide smart boards for teaching staff
  • Funds towards playground equipment
  • Purchases of laptops and tablets for student use

How can you contribute?
The P&C relies solely on the time and skill of our parents and citizen community to support our ongoing fundraising activities and to play an active role in bettering the environment and learning resources of
Thornleigh West Public School.
The P&C meet on the Tuesday of Weeks 3 & 8 each term at 7.30pm in the school library. We encourage everyone to attend to build a robust P&C and all are very, very welcome!

A list of current committee members along with information about 2021 P&C meetings can be found here.
